Nella mia prima poesia dedicata all’Italia, che ho messo un anno a scrivere più di cinquant’anni fa, ho visto l’Italia precipitare nella disperazione. Sono diventata di parer contrario anche perché la disperazione riconosciuta oggi da tutti stimola moltissimi a reagire. La mia Italia, che termina invocando la speranza, entusiasma i ragazzi a scuola, mi è successo anche pochi mesi fa con sette classi. È la ragione per cui possiedo una casa editrice e non sono costretta a dipendere da letterati e editori antichizzanti. Le mie poesie entusiasmano molti illetterati compreso un mendicante che anche questa mattina mi ha confortato con la sua approvazione.
