Là dove il mondo scolora nell'arco
del polo, e le nubi aggrigiano i giorni
una sull'altra in cumuli distese
come coltre levata contro il sole
Là corre con le renne il mio pensiero
al paese di abeti senza fine
che il silenzio ricopre delle nevi.
Vorrei solo la neve alta tra i pini
far cantare nel gelo aprendo il passo
nella foresta fuori dal sentiero
che le betulle e i larici nel vento
fanno cantare al ritmo delle streghe.
Stoccolma dalle luci sempre vive
a schiarire la notte che non quieta
con le case riflesse nei canali
trascorrenti nel brivido del mare
tu vieni mai veduta a ricordare
E sembra ciascun giorno più lontana
la terra che mi diede amata il canto
né il sole mi rallegra quando splende
o la luna e le stelle sul giardino.
